Join Tom Dickau, Bristol City Historian and member of the Bristol Historical Society, as he presents the third in a series of programs titled Bristol/Forestville “Recycled”: Now and Then, Thursday night September 21, at BHS at 7:00. This program will begin with the foundations of religious institutions within our community. It will be followed by a discussion of the three first religions within our community that became the base for other religions that followed.
Historic information regarding each religion in Bristol will be described with an emphasis being placed on how the church buildings or land have been repurposed throughout the years. The role of immigration and how this movement influenced church development will be described. Part Three will encompass from 1742 to the 1880s. Part Four of this series will cover the 1880s to modern times.
Doors open at 6:30. Seating is limited to the first hundred who enter. Admission is free for BHS members; a $5 donation is requested for non-members. Parking is available behind the building. Refreshments will be served.
