Topping the charts are Maya Bringe as president and Steve Vastola as first vice-president with Don Soucy taking over as treasurer of the organization. Bristol Historical Society selling ‘Profiles of Courage’ ornaments

Call for Special Membership Meeting, May 3 at 6:30pm for Proposed Bylaw Changes

Dear the Bristol Historical membership, We have asked the BHS president to call a special membership meeting at 6:30 pm on May 3, 2019 to vote on the bylaw amendments that the Governance Committee has proposed. As you may recall, bylaw amendments were proposed at last years annual meeting, but the membership voted to table the vote until the issue of the Historical Society’s tenants have been fully considered. Historical Society President looks to Future Projects

BRISTOL — Mike Saman began his tenure as the new president of the Bristol Historical Society Friday, but his involvement with the organization stretches back more than 46 years. Saman, who was vice-president of the Bristol Historical Society under his predecessor Tom Dickau, has held a passion for local history from an early age. “There are a lot of things here that people don’t know about or aren’t aware of,” said Saman. Forestville’s Jean Bradley Remembered

Friday, September 12, 2014 10:47 PM EDT To the Editor: The Bristol Historical Society lost one of its most beloved and valued members this Monday, Sept. 8, with the passing of Jean Bradley. A life-long member of Forestville, Jean was a founding member of the organization and was recognized in 2013 at our annual dinner for over 40 years of service. She was also designated as Volunteer of the Year in 1996. Jean served as nominating committee chairperson for many years.
