This year marks the 80th anniversary of the July 6, 1944, Hartford Circus Fire. James Battaglio, a former Hartford Times reporter, will speak to us about his story, A Tragic Price, about the fire. Battaglio became interested in the history of the fire when he was working as a journalist in 1979, when he met a victim of the fire. He never learned her name, but her face and words never left him. Learn more about the tragedy and the connections that the event has to Bristol.

James Battaglio is a Connecticut native and an award-winning journalist with more than 50 years of writing for newspapers, magazines, and electronic news outlets.
