On June 10, Connecticut Open House Day, the Bristol Historical Society will be hosting a Bristol BSA Scouters’ Reunion. Bristol has always been a scouting-enthusiastic city. For many years scouting was so big in Bristol that it was its own council. The 1960 Annual Scouters’ Day dinner program in the Bristol Historical Society collection lists 45 units; Cub packs, Boy Scout troops, Adventure posts, and even a Sea Scout ship! Plan to come to the Bristol Historical Society to view a display of Bristol-related scout memorabilia.
From 10am to 2pm, visit a display of Bristol-related Scout memorabilia. At 2pm, join us at the First Congregational Church for a live program of fun followed by a cracker barrel social hour.
Visit the Facebook Group “Bristol BSA Scout History” to get a preview of what is in store for the reunion and please join the group if you like. Contact Steve Vastola at activities@bristolhistoricalsociety.org, 860-944-6567 or through the Facebook group for more information or to become part of the celebration.
