At the program, the New Departure Holiday Ornament and booklet regarding New Departure written by Bob Adamczyk will be available for sale.

Presenter: Bob Adamczyk, Bristol Historian and BHS member. His previous programs have always been considered excellent by those attending. “The social aspects of the New Departure Company prior to unions will be described and the times when employees were encouraged to create a social environment within the company will be discussed. Such areas as sporting events, musical activities and clubs offered at New Departure will also be included.”

Bob asks that people bring their memories of this company to share.

The Bristol Historical Society has the perfect gift this year for your friends and relatives, who either live in Bristol or out-of-state. The New Departure Company played an important part in Bristol’s history, both industrially and socially. BHS takes great pleasure in announcing that the 2019 Holiday Ornament of the New Departure Company on North Main Street was designed to coincide with Bob Adamczyk’s program.
Over the years Bristol ornaments have been designed as a Christmas tradition by Michael’s Jewelers; the Federal Hill Association, the Forestville Village Association and BHS. The Bristol Historical Society is the only organization to carry this seasonal tradition into 2019.

The ornaments which sell for $15 can be purchased on both program dates, Wednesday and Saturday during open hours at BHS, at The BHS Holiday Fair on Saturday December 7, as well as, at City True Value Hardware on Farmington Avenue and the F.N. Manross Library in Forestville.
